This is a scrummy way to do potatoes, a french country dish, very simple and hearty.
Chop up potatoes in small pieces, toss in oil add salt and pepper and roast until crunchy. Meanwhile, fry diced onion and bacon together until soft and golden. Then grate lots of gruyere cheese.
When potatoes are cooked drape with bacon/onion mixture and blanket with cheese on top, return to oven until cheese is melted.
Serve with a salad.
