And as I was checking out my book the librarian informs me that I owe the library $1. Would I like to pay that now? "Sure", I say, as I fish a dollar out of my purse. "Do you happen to know what it is for?" Turns out it was for the Mother Theresa book which I never picked up.

Well, I just picked up my copy of Elmer Gantry today and have only had a chance to read through the first few pages. It looks like I'm in for a wild ride So far, I like Lewis' description of Gantry's college - a dreary old Baptist college where most of the faculty are pastors, most of the girls are straight-laced and boring, and most of the fun is to be had off-campus. Poor Elmer is bored out...

To all who are interested: As soon as we can find this book in the stores or the libraries we will commence to read and discuss together. From what I understand, these are letters Mother Theresa wished destroyed, not released to the public, but anything to make a buck, I guess?? I know that she ceased to feel God's presense in her life. She did not cease to believe in Him, she only ceased to feel His presence. This is not, again, from what I understand, hindering the Catholic Church's...
